Meet the Doctors

Dana Ben-Artzi, MD, FAAP

Dana was born in South Africa and moved to Salt Lake City at the age of eleven. She attended Emory University, where she completed her undergraduate degree in Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology and graduated Summa Cum Laude.  She then attended Sackler School of Medicine in Tel Aviv, Israel, where she earned her MD, and, in 2008, she completed her residency at the prestigious Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles.  Since completing her training, Dana has worked in private practice settings, serving the Seattle community for 4 years, and then the Santa Monica community for 9 years.  She recently moved to beautiful San Diego to be closer to family and to raise her children in a quieter, friendlier environment with much less traffic! 

Dana enjoys developing close relationships with her patients and providing parenting support from birth through the teen years. She has a special interest in preventive care and helping her patients develop healthy habits. She is an avid traveler and during medical school and residency she had a special interest in global health and did medical internships in Peru, Costa Rica and Croatia. She also volunteered on medical missions to provide care in Tijuana and Kenya.  While in Tanzania, she summitted Mount Kilimanjaro.

She lives in Carmel Valley with her husband, Ami and their three daughters, Hadas, Roni and Shai. Ami Is a Rheumatologist and has a private practice in Del Mar. In her spare time, Dana enjoys spending time with her family and being outdoors: hiking, swimming, rock climbing and camping. She speaks Hebrew fluently.
