“Athletes Saving Athletes” Benefit Run and CPR/AED training
March 2, 2014 @ 11:00 am - 2:00 pm$20 – $30
On March 2nd, Coast Families can participate in a fundraiser for Athletes Saving Athletes AND receive free CPR/AED training after the event.
Athletes Saving Athletes® (ASA) is a unique peer-to-peer education program designed to empower student athletes with the knowledge to help them recognize signs and symptoms of life-threatening injuries and conditions. The goal of ASA is to reduce the risk and incidence of injury and death for student athletes using the power of education and kids talking to kids.
Student athletes who complete the program (not the fundraiser):
- are educated in recognizing signs and symptoms of life-threatening injuries and medical conditions
- learn CPR and how to use an AED (automated external defibrillator)
- become “ASA Ambassadors” who have made the commitment to share their new knowledge and skills with current and future teammates
Families who wish to participate in the fundraiser will see how many laps they can walk or run in an hour. After the event, there is a FREE CPR/AED training session for those who sign up at the event.
